dressed in a kilt and a Tam O Shanter too
I was going to post this in the general kilt section as I would like as many people as possible to see it. However I think it more properly belongs here.
On Saturday August 1 I ordered from What Price Glory a 1940s style Tam O Shanter and a WWII style Web belt to wear with my vintage Army style Black Watch Kilt. I want a military look although there will be no insignia of any kind on any of the outfit.
Today Tuesday August 4 these items arrived, via DHL, at my house in San Francisco Ca. They were shipped from Dubai in the UAE. Half way around the world in less than 96 hours. I don't get letters from the east coast of the US in that short a time. Talk about fast service.
BTW both items are very well made and exactly as advertised. Now I just have to wait a couple of more months for the kilt.

I second the good Father; Pictures, please!
I recently received an Argyll jacket and waistcoat from Pakistan via DHL. It was similar to your experience, shipped on a Saturday, received Tuesday! Fed-Ex sure could learn a thing or 2 from that!

Boy, there is no satisfying you guys. Here I spend hours composing a magnificent tome, albeit a short one, and all you want are pictures.
Well, far be it for me to disappoint a second time so..............
I included my Mackie Balmoral for size comparison. John at Keltoi has also been kind enough to cut and fringe a small tartan patch that I can sew onto the TOS. However, kilt and patch are not due to arrive until late September or early October. When the kilt arrives I shall be certain to post pics with the full regalia.

I should have posted one of me wearing the Tam I guess and so here it is.
Does one "jock" a Tam the same as a Balmoral?

I think it looks good as is, but here is a thread that addresses the subject.

Sailortats, there is no pleasing the ever demanding Rabble when it comes to kilting. You of all folks should know how demanding we are. My personal gratitude for all you offer us in your postings. They always bring a smile and excitement to the forum.
Ps. You will be reminded to post photos when the next shipment is due (some calendars are red-lettered.)

Reading that other thread (link provided by Dughlas mor) I was somewhat surprised that a tam would need any jocking, since mine did not.
But it seems the one that MacKenzie bought certainly did want a good bit of jocking.
The one I ordered from Robert Mackie in Scotland needed none at all.
(Apologies for not having posted a picture yet, since I have been wearing the thing daily for a couple of years.)
The Mackie product went onto my head and lay exactly right. All it needed was a bit of leather to stiffen the area where my bonnet badge was attached.
Perhaps there is something that Stewarton can teach those Pakistanis.
At any rate, Sailortats, your bunnet looks fine.
Regards,
Mike
