Election night in Canada
Praying for results that will help people - whatever party that might be. If you'd say a prayer for us, it would be appreciated.
...and that's as political as I will get in public.

Good luck.

And here in Wales we have our own General Election for the National Assembly on May 5th.

Well, prayer didn't work and we're now stuck with a Conservative majority.

Election time in South Africa on 18 May. Local elections, that is.
While Parliament in Cape Town and the nine provincial legislatures are elected on a purely proportional basis, local elections (for local, district and metropolitan municipalities) are conducted on a ward basis, with only a small proportional vote.
The metropoles (Cape Town, Nelson Mandela Bay [Port Elizabeth], eThekwini [Durban], Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni [East Rand] and Tshwane [Pretoria] stand alone, but the rest of the local municipalities fall under district municipalities (roughly equivalent to counties).
The campaign is hotting up – but, like Father Bill, I had better keep that to myself.
Regards,
Mike

Folks - this was not my intention. I was asking for prayers for the good of all, not for a personal opinion about which party would be a good one. Let's keep it cool.

My sentiments exactly.
I have been shooting my mouth off on other forums about politics in my country, but this is not the place for it.
