    Even the Birds are Feeling the Cold


    Gabrielle woke me early this morning because there was a wee brown bird flying around the bedroom. I opened the window and set it free. We had all the windows shut and the heating turned on because of the unseasonally cold weather.
    Later we found it had been in her wardrobe and left its calling card on her clothes, so I reckon it must have roosted there overnight after sneaking in the door for some heat when I arrived home last night.

    Not just the Midwest - a good portion of my homestate is still aflame. I wish there was a way to trade a bit of our heat for a bit of your cold.

    Birds that normally spend their summers in Iceland are spending them here so Iceland must be having even worse weather than the UK!
