First attempt at 1740s Highland attire
There are many improvements needed to my wardrobe, but here is my hurried first attempt at 1740s Highland attire, worn today at the Georgia Renaissance Festival. I got behind on this project and was then up til 4 am this morning trying to get everything 'just ready enough' to wear today, so please forgive me, I know it's sloppy! Gotta get the hang of wearing the arisaid, for one thing

To my untrained eye it`s just lovely, lass.

Are you or did you tend a booth? If so, what task did you recreate or ware did you offer? I believe, even if you sat in the shade and greeted folks, no one was counting stitches on your wardrobe. I hope it was a smashing event for you.

Thanks gentlemen! It was a great day (much warmer than the Highlands I'm sure, in the high 80s and full sun... but better than the ton of rain we've had for months!). Tarheel, I didn't have a booth or anything, we just went for fun. DH was going to wear his new great kilt for the first time but didn't due to technical difficulties
The Georgia Renaissance Festival has a permanent location, and every year they have it each weekend from April to June. This is their Highland themed weekend, so there were lots of kilted men! Which I think eased DH's mind about wearing his for the first time, when he does.
Just realized I said 1840s in the OP... meant 1740s. I'm used to American Civil War era.
We hope to attend the Stone Mountain Highland Games in October... maybe I'll see some of the rabble there!

You are turned out fine! Sounds like you had a good time!

I used my mod power to edit the title to the correct date.
I hope you can soon induce the DH to kilt up.
I used to do English civil war, 1640s, and know the time it takes to get the look right and sew it all together before the day.
