What do you love as a midnight snack? The dog and I are eating egg salad sammiches on onion rolls right now. With ice cold root beer. Pickle relish. Lots of garlic. A little mayo, some spicy brown mustard. Red wine vinegar. All the right seasonings. How are we susposed to remain slim and slender in our kilts when the forbidden feast lures to the lands of deliciousness?

Bratwurst cooked in dark beer, with pickled red cabbge, sauteed onions and bell peppers, sweet Bavarian mustard and Bavarian kraut {with 1.5 cups sugar added to it. Old German recipe}. All this on a hoagie roll. De gustibus non disputandem est! Can't have a beer with it, as I am on call.

Just a light one. No steaks in the house. Besides it's too darn cold right now to fire up the grill!
