Found the hat!
I've been looking for a hat like the one that the scruffy red and white cat in my avatar (Mac Manc McManx from Get Fuzzy) wears for a while.
Knew that Mac was a Manchester City fan....and so, finally...

Excellent! So now let's see if they're gonna kill me on international shipping charges...

Schurrly your avatar is of Bill The Cat from the Bloom County/ Outland strip? What's going on here? Is it some kind of a Clone War? God forbid it should be that boring [referring to the film]? What happened to Opus, the Bloom County penguin?

I was a big fan of Bloom County. Mac Manc McManx is similar in drawing, but is decidedly different from Bill. Equally unintelligble, though.
Get Fuzzy has become my new favorite comic strip these last few years, since the demise of Bloom County and Calvin.
I wish I believed in reincarnation. Where's Charles Martel when you need him?

Being really pale and having red hair, I sort of identify with Mac to begin with. His unintelligible speech, which, I am informed, is "Mancusian", the native speech of Manchester, is fantastic.
Get Fuzzy is one of those comic strips that has that certain element of chaos that makes it appealing. Bloom County and Calvin and Hobbes had the same sort of theme and I miss them a lot. I would miss Get Fuzzy if I couldn't read it on the internet because the Chicago Tribune decided to drop it a while back...it probably got too expensive and they felt that they could do better with something from the bargain basement of comic strips.
Anyway, Mac has contributed several expressions to my personal vocabulary and it bears out the idea that there are some words that are just so appropriate that any kind of translation is unnecessary. "Chuffed" being one of them...
I already wear a big, grey hat like that and do the big-eyes-slack-jaw thing for my daughter's amusement...at least she gets it...but I always wanted the hat with the Man City patch on it to complete the look.

That was probably just a typo, but I believe its "Mancunian."

Sorry...not a typo just "misremembered" the word...probably got shuffled up with "malthusian" in the windmills of my mind...
