Great British Railway Journeys
Just grabbing a late lunch and caught the end of this TV program on the 'Yesterday' channel, one of a series following lines described in the Bradshaw's guides to the railways of the late 1800s.
This program was describing the journey South to North on the West coast of Scotland, and it might interest people intending to visit us. One of the places was Loch Lomond, tiny tantalising glimpses of old films of the area were included.
Great British Railway Journeys does cover the whole of Britain, and whilst I am not sure of its availability outside the UK if you can find it online to view it is a glimpse of our landscape - naturally it is fairly superficial in dealing with the history of places along the line.
