    Grooms Cake...

Any ideas and/or pictures of your grooms cakes?

I am trying to get ideas because I have no idea what to do! Haha.

And the rehearsal dinner is this Friday. Let me know!

I am counting on you, rabble!

Never had one of those myself, but if I did, I would have liked one of these

Lol as classy is that is, the grooms cake doesnt really have a topper, it's more just "filler" cake if you ask me.

The Mrs.and I made our own cake, and used the "scraps" left over from leveling the tops to make a trifle. i broke the "scraps" into big pieces, and layered them with whipped cream and strawberries in a punch bowl. Your baker might appreciate this suggestion, especially since it's almost crunch time.
Do post plenty of pictures of the cakes, please.

I'm not sure what a "groom's cake" is... (something you guys have in the states but would be rare or unusual over here?) anyway, I digress; I would have this (or something similar):

I don't really have a "sweet tooth"... it's more of a "cheese tooth"!

I don't care for white cake, so mine was multi-layered dark chocolate cake and dark chocolate frosting. Whether you had any say in the actual wedding cake, this is one that you get to choose! Make it something you like.

    Burly Brute,

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I received a great cake a few years back for my birthday that might inspire you... I was totally blown away when it was presented. Good Luck!

Mine was a Red Velvet cake, done in the standard way. It's doesn't really have to be a big deal, it's really so your guests have a choice of cakes to eat.

    Re: Grooms Cake...

From what I remember from watching "Ace of Cakes", is that the Groom's Cake is very unique and personal to the groom. It reflects his unique interest and his favorite cake flavor. Most of the time they were a gift to the groom from the bride, and had a theme of one of his hobbies.

For pictures these may be helpful: Ideas for Groom's Cakes 1, Ideas for Groom's Cakes 2, Ideas for Groom's Cakes 3, Ideas for Groom's Cakes 4, Ideas for Groom's Cakes 5, Ideas for Groom's Cakes 6, Ideas for Groom's Cakes 7, Ideas for Groom's Cakes 8, Ideas for Groom's Cakes 9, Ideas for Groom's Cakes 10, Ideas for Groom's Cakes 11, Ideas for Groom's Cakes 12 (this one has 16 pages of pictures).

You can Google Image Search "Grooms Cake" and whatever you are really interested in and find cake ideas for just about any interest (that you are willing to share with your family and friends).
