I have a question for those of you who know guitars... I have a Takamine N-15 (Natural Series) with solid cedar top, rosewood sides, back (two piece) and fretboard. I bought it around 1990, and it has just a few scratches/finger marks near the soundhole. What would it be worth in today's market? It is really much, much more guitar than I need.....
There is a guitar blue book, but it costs money just to look it up on line. Blue books are only a guide, the bottom line is that it's worth exactly what you can get someone to pay. Why would you want to play a lesser guitar though? I've always felt that anyones playing benefits from having the best guitar they can get. When I taught guitar that was always my advice. Jamie

The only thing that I can suggest is that you look for comparables on Ebay...that's where all the action is these days except for the VERY high end stuff. I was explaining to someone recently that the old Takamines were very nice and not at all like the current ones...I expect that they can only improve with age. Best AA
I'm not a guitar player, but I used to work at a guitar repair/consignment shop. If you're going to sell it to someone, ask for about $250. Make sure it has new strings and set the truss rod if it's been sitting a while and warped the neck. Also, if there's no finish on the fret board, finger oils can build up and give it a grungy look. If this has happened, remove the strings, take a very fine sand paper or emory board and gently buff the fret board between the frets. Polish with a soft cloth to give it a 'newer' appearance. I'd really have to look at it and hear the resonant tones to really know what it's worth. A $1000 guitar isn't worth anything if it's been sitting in an attic or storage shed somewhere. The tone changes as the wood warps.
You could take it down to Ithaca Guitar works. They're nice folk and will give you a price probably half what you could sell it privately. But it will give you an idea.
