Happy Thanksgiving
Wishing all Xmarkers a happy Thanksgiving day, whether you are in the US or not. We give thanks to God for all the blessings we have received; including the great friends we have on Xmark

A time to count the blessings and forget about the rest. Happy Thanksgiving to everybody but the turkeys.
Scotland is only 1/5 the size of Montana, but Scotland has over 3,000 castles and Montana has none.

Ditto
May I also add (as a native born and raised Scot and now a naturalized American), that this is a wonderful family holiday largely devoid of materialism, which by virtue of it's place on the calendar prevents the dreadful and increasingly early over-commercialisation of Christmas that happens in the UK.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving
Tomorrow we'll give thanks for family and friends. We're out at my wife's family in Ohio, flew the kids in from Colorado. Giving thanks for new babies born to the family this year, continued health, good jobs and also for my son who just graduated from college. This year has had some rough points, but all in all it has been a very good year for our family. In the words of Garrison Keillor--"Thank you, God, for this good life and forgive us if we do not love it enough."

I like to remind folks to be thankful for things they don't have:
- terrible diseases
- pending criminal charges
- armed madmen threatening your life/property
- debilitating mental disorders
- other things/conditions you would not like to have

When given a choice, most people will choose.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving, everybody! Now I have to take the pumpkin pie out of the oven, remove the cranberries from the stove and begin prep for the stuffing.
Have any of you tried adding a couple of tablespoons of Scotch to your turkey gravy? Add just before serving and let the alcohol burn off. A friend told me about this a few years ago, and now each of my guests just want the gravy boat and a spoon!
