    Highland Security

I was out at REI the other day and had on my Dept of Highland Security "raid" t-shirt (logo on the front, big white DHS on the back) when a gent came up to me and said with a smile "My son-in-law is a colleague of yours." Realizing that he was referring to my t-shirt, I thought to ask the gent what his son-in-law's handle here on Xmarks was when he said "He works for TSA at Reagan National" I smiled, said something about it being a small world and went on my way. Turns out when people aren't paying close attention they see what they want to see. Was certainly good for a laugh.

You're quite the gentleman, Alex. We do have a tendency to see what we think something is and not what it really is.

I recently had a similar experience at local uniform suply store. I was wearing my Highland Security "raid" shirt, a pair of tan TDU pants, and blabck tactical boots worn bloused. I had gone there to get name strips made for the uniform I wear at my job with a private security company. The store staff said that they had never dealt with Homeland Security. I got a chuckle out of it.

    You're too kind Mael.

It's actually not the first time it's happened. I work as a contractor to HOMEland Security and had on HIGHland security gear one day. My team-lead came up and said "That's awesome! Where'd you get that?" I told him to get his glasses and look a little closer. A good chuckle was had by all

How does one get these Highland Security "raid" shirts? Was this a special buy I missed out on?

So true Alex... For the longest time --- and still do -- I always have to look closely and convince myself that it isn't the other Dept. LOL

So I'm saying too because I sense a put-down on the guy, in the posts. I've had the luxury of being able to look at the logo. It still took me a while to realize what it was. He just saw it there and I would dare say that he wouldn't dare stare at the tshirt. It can happen to any of us.

On the other hand, I'd be interested in one of those tshirts myself.

I'm right there with you! I get it turned around in my head all the time. And I made the blasted things!

To those who may be interested in a shirt, please PM me.
