I wasn't going to say anything, but...
Last Thursday, my wife and I headed out from Estes Park to Conway, AR. We stopped and visited my sister in Parsons, KS on the way. Why were we headed that way? HP had a job fair on Monday the 28th. I was one of the first 250 or so that were there. After a brief presentation we headed into the room where they had a few tables set up, one for the tech support group, one for sales operations and one for sales. I went to the first open reviewer at sales. He took one quick look at my resume and told me I had to talk with this other guy. Stood in his line and had me talk to a third. He took one look and asked the $$$ question then gave me a slip of paper to take to another room. There they gave me an appointment for an interview for Tuesday BUT for a cold call group not the sales management position I wanted. Great, now I have to stick around another night in a motel Well, I had a maximum of 45 minutes to make my case so I was prepared to take the time. The HR interviewer walked in and introduced himself, the FEDERAL SALES MANAGER It was obvious that he was working outside the box since he all but offered me a position handling the same accounts I had when I left HP a little over a year ago. "No promises, but I will put this through as quickly as possible."
Well folks, that is it in a nutshell. My wife and I are heading back as quickly as we can so that FedEx can find me right away. IF his talk with the call center director goes the way I think, I should be moving to Conway by the end of October.
It has been nine months I've been out of a job so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!

We will keep our fingers crossed and pray everything works out for the best for you. Obviously, HP sees an excellent opportunity, by bringing you back.. Quality people are desperately needed, and I am sure they see it in you

"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon
