I'm Free!!!
After much deliberation, and some financial headscratching, I made a decision that will improve my life. I quit my job. I am 60, will be 61 next month, and have some arthritis in my right knee. Standing on concrete floors for 8 to 9 hours at a stretch were doing me no good. Plus, the corporate mindset at my place of employment was dragging my soul down. My wife makes a very good living, a highly paid medical transcriptionist. So, I no longer am a slave to the Wal-mart time clock. This increases the opportunities I will have to wear my kilts.

I'd bet that in two months you will wonder how you found the time to go to work.
Now you can take a nap after lunch and stay up until dawn, install a hammock - or whatever takes your fancy.
May you wear your kilts in freedom for many a long year.

Retirement is not the right word! Congratulations on entering your renaissance!

Aha, so you've become a kept man. Good for you. I agree "renaissance" is a good word for your retirement.

Good for you!

Congratulations!
I was fortunate enough to be able to retire two and a half years ago at age 58.
I have never looked back, not even a little.
Enjoy your new phase of life.
