I'm not sure if I should be PO'd or happy
Hi everybody,
My wife was fired today from a job she hates.
She has been wanting to quit for some time now. I have encouraged her to leave but we all know how much effort it takes to change your life
The reason I'm upset is she was fired by e-mail on Mothers Day. Couldn't her boss waited until tomorrow morning and done it person. Turns out he's a gutless wimp when it comes to conflict. My wife recently made a mistake that is a firable offense and isn't making any excuses but com'on. Being fired by e-mail, give me a break. What a gutless way to run a business.
I take back anything nice I said about them.
Grrrr

Can you be both? Too bad it happened on Mother's Day and by email. Really, what kind of gutless wonder would do that? on a special day and worst of all, electronically. If a person can't do it face to face, they shouldn't be in management.
Sometimes the opportunites we most want and are afraid to approach are suddenly thrust upon us. What we have to decide is do we have the courage to accept the change?

They shouldn't be in business.
Hope you managed to help celebrate her freedom. I'm sure both of you will be better off in the long run without that stressful situation.

That really shows a lack of character. Curious, what would have happened if she didn't read her email?
Freedom for your wife. Too bad it had to happen this way.

No doubt she's better off not working for someone like that. No class, no guts... good riddance!
Best of luck to her in finding a better situation.

It goes to show how little that company is. It seems like this is something currently going around. I had gone through something like this myself, a bad company, a weasel of a manager, and much to their dismay.... I landed on my feet, and ended up with a job I thoroughly enjoy.. Money is much better, my abilities have been noticed by good people and I am moving up the ladder, and I really like my job..
I would encourage your wife to keep her head up, take this as an opportunity to step ahead and have the satisfaction of knowing, this boss will probably go down in a blaze. If he is afraid of confrontation, his leadership skills are lacking.. You can only fool people for so long before they find out, his is bluffing his way through life. I have seen people like that so many times, and each time is the same.. Crash and Burn..
I know these are tough times, but there is good companies out there looking for good people.

Hmm ...
It's late while I'm posting this so you may not see it this evening ...
You know, if she didn't reply to that email, she should just walk in there tomorrow and let the wimp get his minuscule ego deflated even further.
"What, you emailed me? When? Oh, sorry, I don't check my email on the weekend!"
*pause just a moment*
"Hold on a minute ... can you use email to fire me?"
*go to his boss and ask, possibly bringing a load of **** down on him*
You know the old saying; "What goes around comes around."
Sorry if this sounds mean but my work tried to lay me off while I'm on workmen's comp. Shop steward pointed out the three hires under me would have to go first, since they were citing 'no work'.

Your wife has had a lucky escape from an incompetently run organisation.
This is a wonderful opportunity for her to do something more satisfying.
