Its about that time
for the semi-annual post that declares that, yes, String is still alive and well.
Since I have posted, I graduated with a BA in Anthropology, moved in with my parents and got a job at JC Penneys. My life is soooo exciting. I do tend to be rather busy except on days like today where I have a late shift and I try to be as lazy as possible before work because I hate going to work already tired from a long day.
I still knit quite a lot, and spinning too. Sadly I haven't made kilt hose in a long time. I've been making shawls a lot recently, and I have a few sweaters in varying degrees of completion. I'm no longer spinning as a job, so I'm working on making it not feel like one again. I have been thinking of doing some dying but sadly the floods in my area 2 weeks ago busted our water pipe so that must wait for another day.
In August my life will be taking another turn as I will be moving to Williamsburg VA, and starting a master's program in historical Archaeology at the College of William and Mary.
Well, that is what is going on in my life, how 'bout you tell me all about yours.

Hope you do well with your master's degree, String, and the busted plumbing.
I had my name changed, so I'm not myself anymore. However, I am still studying desert horticulture.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

A boomerang child. I received a B.S. in Aquatic Science (Fisheries Biology emphasis) and also had to move back in with my parents. After placing first place loser ( 2nd choice, which doesn't pay) in too many interviews, I went back into the already hurting construction. Two of my classmates also in construction, one is an insurance adjuster, another works at a pet shop. $10,000 a year, four years, and I am back to stonework.
I hope you have better luck than me and mine.

Welcome back!
I'm glad to hear the grad school plans are coming together. Sorry it won't be here, but W&M sounds like an excellent venue. And did I mention it gets amazingly hot here?

it gets pretty darn hot in Williamsburg too, although here in KY it hits 80-90F whenever it decides to stop raining. Which of late isn't often.

You are all welcome. I am considering paying my rent by subletting my floor to vacationing friends and family.
