Thanks, The advice here is to NEVER pin the aprons together as this could cause tearing if it caught on something. The pin is primarily decoration and maybe a little weight. The best advice on unpinning is to have a different pin for each kilt and to only remove it when you need to clean the kilt.

I only attach it to the front apron and then I don't remove it unless I am having the kilt cleaned. I have a kilt pin for each kilt. It does add a little weight to hold the front apron in place.
