I watched tv coverage of the March for Life in Washington, DC today, and decided I want to be part of it next year. Then I thought, to myself, "Self, wouldn't it be cool to have a kilted contingent in the march?" So I decided to post this thread to see if there's interest in a pleat of us attending this event and marching down Constitution Avenue next January. *Let the record show that this thread is started in a non-political, let's-not-argue-about-it way.*

I was hoping to make it this year with our church but was unable to come up with the required money for the trip. So I'm also planning on attending next year and I was also thinking of going kilted. So if I make it, maybe we can meet up somewhere. It would be cool to have a buch of us. Maybe we will get some press. Got a killer t-shirt planned out for it too. Just have to get it printed up which should be no problem.
I wonder if any pipe bands participated?
I didn't see or hear any.

Speaking as a pipe band member, I doubt many pipe bands would participate in this sort of event, even if they were offered to be paid for it. Most pipe bands around here avoid any sort of socio-political hot buttons or endorsements - so no pipe bands for a political rally of any kind, marches for any particular cause, etc. Individual band members are free to do as they wish, but if interviewed, don't mention the band and please don't wear the band uniform, wear your own kilt.
