    Lassie's reply/ Burns Dinner

Burns dinners are known for being long and drawn out... or at least they have become that with the HRSS.
Many moons ago when I first joined they were not! I was a newbie and was asked to give the saucy 'Lassies Reply'. I researched and asked folks about it and decided most were too insulting or long... thus I wrote what has been posted on the internet as "The Shortest Lassies Reply".

WARNING: it does NOT precent well when an 'elderly' lady does it nor when it is drawn out by one who has much to drink... combine the two and you have the total butchery of what was intended.

Please if you should like to use my poem have a young sweet thing precent it quick and to the point!
If you would like to hear it for tempo and tone email me and I'll give you my phone number or other way for you to hear it.

There are no braver men be 'ad, NA even by light o' day,
Then those dear few who wear thir plaids and show thir bonnie knees…
To know what's hidden higher still, for some would n'er please.
For un'er-neath those kilts you tilt, we've seen the sights full well,
And all us Lassies blush'n red, we think your look'n swell.

I need to copy this against next year's dinner - for someone else to give, of course. And not my daughter!
