Long Lost Kiltie returns (again!)!
Hey, there fellow kilties!
First, let me say that I've missed you all! Second, thanks for the check-ins...I just now noticed them! It was Father Stan's (Ozman) e-mail that spurred me to get back on the XMTS boards after my hiatus! Thanks, Father!
Well, my absence has been due to the craziness of starting a new job, then starting another new job! Oddly enough, I accepted a job at one school and ended up leaving before school actually started (don't worry...nothing illegal - we were considered "at will" employees, and my will decided that I just couldn't stay there for many reasons). The very next day after resigning, I was offered a job at a fabulous school that I really enjoy...more about that in a moment!
Of course, being the kinda girl I am, I did not have "permission" from those whom I did not actually realize I needed to obtain permission from to make the job switch, so I found myself in some hot water with folks that you really wouldn't care to be in hot water with. AND, again, being the kinda girl that I am, when someone verbally attacked me and said mean things, I offered her a sternly written reply that basically boiled down to "back off! you don't know me! this issue is no longer on the table!...then I got in even more hot water. Such is life for a Flint girl from a blue-collar, working class family dealing with folks who are out of touch with reality. BUT..enough about that!
On to my new school! I LOVE it!! I teach five classes of ninth graders and one class of twelfth graders...all boys. I've learned many new words this semester!! I've worn my kilt(s) a few times and plan to do so more now that the weather is cooling off. AND...during homecoming festivities, two of the grade 11 boys wore kilts!!! How cool is that!?! I did not get to speak with them because they were across the football field from me, but I thought it was really neat (I think one kilt was a Gordon, and the other was "red based"...not sure what, though! Kind of looked like Royal Stewart.)!
I have been quickly peaking at X-Marks these last few months, but hope to get back to posting now. I'm home today because I have strep throat and pneumonia...lots of germs flying around and I got a little too run-down. There is a "weather watch" that says we may get 4-8 inches of snow tonight, SO...let's all do the magic snow dance for all of those deserving teachers and students who could use one more day off!
Glad to be back with my X-Marks family!!

Well I hope that those you had to deal with have learned their lesson about messing with a kilted nun!
"Did you see her! She has a ruler as long as a claymore and wields it like William Wallace!"

Welcome back Sister!

It's great to have you back again, pipesndrumsnun! Hope you get well soon.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Welcome back! It's good to hear from you. Take all that hot water and make tea. Then sit back, relax and er...smirk at them.
Hope you are feeling better soon.
