Ok! Time for the midsummer day celebration here in Finland! Here at Lapland the midnight sun will shine throughout whole night (like it has the last 2 weeks) at it's highest point. Time for some beer, sauna and BBQ! My friend is coming with his fiance later today and then we eat well and probably hit the streets to check the bonfires. I will probably sport my Douglas Modern medium weight. Great night to come.
guid oan ya! tak loads o piccies tae share wi' the kilties!
Enjoy--It looks beutiful
I'm off to a Midsommar celebration this Saturday; the local Scandanavian Society has invited our Scottish society to their Midsummer program, complete with Maypole, dinner and a program -- they've asked us to come and represent the Orkneys, Shetlands and the Nordic heritage of Scotland, and we should have a good-sized contingent, even the piper will be there! I'll try to get some pictures. Cheers, Todd
Wow! I would love to see more pictures. This forum has been a great way to connect with other countries and cultures. The only problem is my wife and I need to retire soon, pack our tent and sleeping bags and start flying the military "space a" to see all the places first hand. Cheers! Bill
Looks fantastic! Have fun!
Paul Murray Kilted in Detroit! Now that's tough.... LOL
Looks like I'm not going to be dressed in kilt anyway. We are just going out with my friend and are planning to go to the beach to take a round of rugby. I just don't have heart to use my Douglas Modern on a rugby field.

Terve! I spent a couple of weeks tooling around Suomi with the men's chorus back in my college days. Finland is one of the most beautiful places on earth, I think. Thanks for sharing this fabulous photo, but now I am sad because the days were just starting to get to the right length here. Regards, Rex in frumpy Cincinnati
