Most Decorated Marine Corps Aviator in History Dies
You have to read this. I sure hope someone showed up to his services in a Leatherneck tartan kilt.

Semper fi Colonel, well done!
What a great story Ron. I had never heard of him and consider myself an amateur aviation historian. I appreciate the link. (now time to dig into the books again)
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Very interesting article. I used to read a lot about WWII Marine aviation years ago and vaguely remember reading about Reusser's exploits. A true hero.
I met another famous Marine pilot - Marion Carl - many years ago when I lived in Oregon. He was killed by an intruder in his home near Roseburg a few years ago. We are losing a generation of heros all too fast.
