Motorcycle tour of the Highlands
I just finished watching a great program on the Speed network. A guy and his 16 year old son traveled to Glasgow, met up with a friend there, and took a 4 day motorcycle tour of the Highlands. On new Triumph sport-touring bikes they rode northwest from Glasgow, along the coast and ferried to the Isle of Skye. They circled the island and then took the bridge back to the mainland. Then up to Inverness along the shore of Loch Ness, and finally back down through Aviemore to Glasgow. It was beautiful and looked like a lot of fun. They seemed to have pretty great weather for most of the trip as well. Hmm...future vacation plans?

Darn, I'll have to find it for sure. A mix of two very favorite things- Motorcycles and Scotland!

And it wasn't raining? Good lord! I am not at all sure that a motorbike trip around the the highlands could be completed in the dry ever again.

They did say that it was quite cold on Skye, but everywhere else it was almost too warm to wear their full suits. I believe the program was filmed during the summer. I'm sure that some rain disappeared through the magic of editing.

Summer? Summer? Ah yes, that's the time of year when we can see the rain at midnight , rather than just hearing it.

Jock, we here is Seattle understand your little rain issue. Here is one of my favorite jokes...
Q: Do you know what Seattleites do in the summer?
A: If it lands on a Sunday we have a picnic.

If I'm not mistaken, the fellow was Dennis Gage and his son. Dennis is the host of the show "My Classic Car" and is best known for his massive handlebar mustache. He loves pretty much anything with wheels and is very knowledgeable about old cars and bikes.
I have yet to see the show as we don't get that channel here.
