    My new job

Ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased to announce that I will assuming the position of Whisky Buyer for Vom Fass USA starting this October!

Vom Fass is originally a German company whose name translates "From the cask". It is a company that sells mostly oils, vinegar, balsamics, and spirits in measures poured from casks in the store.

My job would to oversee the whisky (and some other spirits) that are sold in our North American franchises, hold classes and events for the general public, make sure our whisky is being cared for and aging properly, and meet with distillers.

Thank you for all of your job interview help and support. If any of you are in the area, please stop by our storefront and say hello (and taste our selection).

Congratulations on the appointment. I was talking about whiskey and tastings only yesterday with a family member and your previous thread about going for the new job came to mind. Hope it all works out well for you

Congrats and well done. You'll do well.

So.....what happened regarding wearing a kilt to enhance whisky sales?

Darn fine news! Congrats on the gig.

One of the regulars at the Duke has scored a job up in Madison and he's planning on keeping his apartment in Chicago and getting a studio apartment up there and commuting back and forth over the week/weekend...I was threatening him that I'd drive up with the minivan full of Dukesters to harass him some time...maybe we can get together then...

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy, Greg.

Congratulations! I must say, it sounds a dream job! Also--I am with Ron in requesting an update as to whether you will be allowed to go about your duties in a kilt. It would seem to me there should be a role for both your kilt and your bagpipes. I should think your credibility as an instructor would be greatly enhanced if those you teach are piped into the instruction by a kilted piper...

Well done Greg and hopefully you will be able to be kilted "on the job" at least sometimes!
