    A new Kilt Chair

Some time ago the topic of kilt chairs came up here on X Marks (but I cannot trace it through the search facility). The Robbie Burns chair, as seen in several of PiM's excellent photos, is a fine example. I seem to remember that these chairs are/were also known as corner chairs.

The point is that a British mail order catalogue company is currently offering a reproduction chair in this style. Here is the entry in their catalogue:

Although I am not a fan of reproduction furniture, I could actually 'live' with one of these chairs in my home - unfortunately, I just do not have the space!!

The company is "The House of Bath" and their website is: www.houseofbath.co.uk

Very nice, Hamish; would make an ideal kilt chair.

A tad bit too lustrous to suit my taste...

I figured out antique corner chairs are not hard to find in the Netherlands and not that expensive (50-100 euros), so I can be picky.
When I find "my" chair I'll post pictures of course.

That is a beautiful piece of work. I bookmarked the site. It is on my "wishlist." It may have to stay there awhile

I was at a conference center today and whil walking from the dining hall back to the area where we all were at, I noticed two chairs exactly like that by the stairs. The replication is remarkable!

If you hadn't started this thread Ham, I wouldn't have been able to see the quality work that I did.
