A new request for moral support...
Just a renewed request, if you have a chance, to say a quick prayer or send some positive thoughts our way.
My wife just lost her job, and the bulk of that salary was going to pay for my education.. I have only 3 courses left after the one I'm in now, and with our combined household income dropping by 50%, unless she finds something very quickly, means I will have to postpone getting my degree indefinitely. Major bummer as I was hoping for a career change myself upon graduation in July.
Also, since this is grad school AND I'm an ex-pat, I do not qualify for any loans, grants or scholarships in the U.S. Already checked extensively.
Because of this also, my wife has had a long-standing medical issue that tends to come to haunt her during times of high stress...
Please and thank you.
(And if anyone knows of anyone who might want to hire a kilt-wearing MBA grad at some point in the future, (my current GPA is 4.0) by ALL means let me know -- am willing to relocate anywhere on the planet. (Seriously. That's how we got to Japan in the first place). )

Oh dear - many commiserations.
At least you can search planet wide, expanded posibilites - you could end up anywhere -
Perhaps these are the times which you will one day look back on and wonder when the excitement went out of your lives?
Until then - may good fortune guide your steps.

I really hope everything works out for you.
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

Change always opens up new opportunities, a trite notion, but in retrospect in my own life, one that I often failed to realize fully at the time.
Any chance you can study at home and pass the courses by test only?

You may have run into a rainy day. Some would suggest that you could have planned better for one. Too late to plan now, though. Instead, what practical steps can you take to manage this temporary setback? Do you have a skill that you could profit from, especially during time you would not already be helping your wife? Do you have items of personal wealth that might better serve you in some other form?
If the answer to all of these questions is NO, then you may have to get creative. Whatever you do, practice hope and peace and always patience. Spring is coming. Make your wife as comfortable as you can. Remember that delay is not the same as failure. Make a list of fun free things. Enjoy them. Take care.

I am sure you and your beloved will land on your feet; with your attitude it may be anywhere in the world.
Opportunity rides the winds of crisis. PM me I might have a few ideas.

My prayers and thoughts are with you both. I have been in similar situations in the not too distant past. Somehow things work out and it is as if they were all meant to be. Keep us posted.
