with the start of the new european season(s) upon us and considering the good craic in a few of the football related threads in the past i thought we'd take a stab at a football group. or is that soccer? or fitba? or association football? link below. enjoy.

Yikes! I'm guilty of loving football a bit too much -- and for that reason I'm afraid I'll have to abstain from joining the group... Too dangerous. Might get me in hot water with the mods... or banned...

Also, my opinions of English Premier League are such that they usually include numerous four-letter words, colourful adjectives, and helpful advice that would involve actions that are anatomically impossible... And this is a family-friendly forum...

Now, then. With that having been said, I'll let this topic rest for good with just one parting visual comment...

I love the sport!

Teams I support depend on the country.

England - Wolverhampton Wanderers

Scotland - Hearts HMFC

Germany - Hamburger SV and the DFB

Too many others to mention.

I own about 35 strips and even started up Subbuteo group in my university days.

I am also an associate member of "York Hearts" in England. Sadly I live in North America where the sport is not really followed.

the group was started for those who wish to discuss the same game that's played all around the world: green park, round ball, 22 players, no hands used...

the group is growing and it would be nice to see skeptics like you and sushi sign on and share your perspectives of the game. you're not the first to express a distaste for the english game and you won't be the last, but there's plenty more to discuss regarding football than just the english premiership.
