I took part in a 4x5km Nordic Ski sprint yesterday. This was the Mass Start - 58 starters in 10 lanes. Fortunately I was running forth man and so had a clean start. 17.01 mins which was I was very pleased with as almost the oldest racers.

The start did indeed look a bit rough! Good on you for your time!

You are a cool one, Peter. I wasn't expecting that! What a messy, uh, mass start! 17.1 - so proud of your accomplishment! Well done - age is only a number.
Great race time. Any atheletic event that you finish in the same contion that you started, (start vertically, finish vertically), I count as a win in my book.
Did the 10 Km yesterday and came 31 out of 200 in 38 mins. More than twice the age of the faster ones. Chuffed with that, and as Stitchwiz rightly says, age is just a number. And we won the hors concours team prize. Home for tea & medals .

You have certainly earned your tea, well done Peter.
You would certainly rate a photo spread in my favorite (I've ever read) magazine issue. "The Sun" circa 1970's, Chapel Hill, NC., dedicated to, "Growing old is not for sissies." https://thesunmagazine.org/_media/BI_List_Sep14.pdf Good for you and your team's run, time and award.
