A once in a lifetime opportunity, and I have math class...
I'm pretty irritated right now, but there's really nothing I can do...
Author Ray Bradburry is speaking tonight, just a couple of blocks from where I go to school, and I can't go because I have math class.

You know, if you think about it, math, in the larger scheme of things, is not really all that important.
On the other hand, he will speak again. Someplace. Somtime.
It's a shame it's so close and yet so far away. Do your best focusing on your math.

I wouldn't say that. Math is vitally important in the world. I use it every day.
But, I would agree that an individual math class is not that important. One can always make up that day, unless there is a test or something.
Ray Bradbury may not be around again if you really want to hear him.

Crusty - send an apologetic note to your tutor to say where you are and why - try to see someones notes on the class before your next lesson, and then apologise. Assuming that your class is not cancelled so that everyone can attend....

Ray Bradbury > Math class.
I'd say get the notes for math from one of your buddies and head to the Bradbury talk. That talk could truely be a once in a lifetime chance, and you can always catch up on math tomorrow. What would you do if you were sick, you'd get the notes from a friend. While continually cutting class is not good, an occasional pass will not be too detrimental in the long run. Just my 2 cents.

I think that Mr. Bradbury would be proud of you if you acted responsibly and attended your math class.
I'd drop him a note and let him know about your noble sacrifice...he might just write you back.
