That is one BIG XMarks kilt pin!!
6.5" in diameter and a good couple of pounds!

Actually, this is the first component of a rather large project I'm working on. It's the drive wheel for a late medieval Gothic chamber clock, the lines I've scribed for cutting out the teeth are visible around the edge, still needs some cleaning up. When it's done (assuming it works, of course) I'm giving it away as a gift to a couple very special friends.
Anyway, I was looking at it yesterday and was reminded of the XMarks pins.

You would need a very heavy wool kilt to pin that too!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

You would certainly hear the clang as it hit the floor if it accidently came off!

I dount you could use that as a pin, maybe as the clasp on a really big sporran, with an extra heavy duty sporran strap!

Or you could always hang it around your neck, a la Flava Flav and his clocks.
