Outlander in Scotland
Do the books sell in Scotland at all? Does the show air on TV? Does anybody watch it?

No idea Alan. All I know about it and that is very little, is the comments made about it on this website.

Hmmm, on one of the Outlander chat groups there are some folks living in Scotland who have commented on the series. Not sure how they got hold of it if it is not available there....the mysteries of the internet! Anyway, their comments were favorable. The only negative thing I have heard is that not all the Scottish accents are accurate.

Jock, this link will take you to an article that talks about the show: http://www.scotsman.com/lifestyle/ar...good-1-3512474
It does say that Scotland has not "bought up" the show, which means not available to the masses, I suppose (although obviously some really savvy computer people may find a way around that).

This link will get you to a listing of the Outlander series episodes. So far I have been able to watch the first 4 episodes, you just have to experiment with the different channels on offer until you find a watch it now one which works without you having to sign up "for Free". I have not been able to watch the latest episode because as of today only 2 channels are on offer, but in a few days time I expect more will come on line and I'll find one that works. I select to watch it now, then pause it for an hour so it can load up completely then watch it. Our internet does not run fast enough to watch it seamlessly, certainly wirelessly, it may work better on the hard wired computers, but that has not been convenient. I have not found one where it can be downloaded without signing up. They say the sign up is free but want your credit card details, so they can charge you if you don't cancel. See post 138 at this link.
Update: 10.30pm Mon 8th, Just watched episode 5 via divxstage.

Thank you for that, when I get time, I will give it a try. Carlo(thank you) also sent me a "lead" to try too, so maybe one of the systems might just be a runner? I have to say the subject of "Outlander" has not entered into any conversation----not even around the dinner table---- that I have been having over here lately.

Unless you or your dinner companions have an interest in either the books or the series, it is not surprising that the topic has not been discussed around the dinner table. I remember years ago when Battlestar Gallactica was filming in the Vancouver area -- some people knew about it and spoke about nothing but that, others had not a clue that it was going on.
