People behind the kilt
I recently posted pics of my wife and I getting ready to leave for a St. Paddy's day night out. I received many compliments on her, most saying I was a lucky man. It got me to thinking how true this was.
I love my wife very much, as most of us do, and thought it would be great to start a thread in support of the ones that support us. As kilties and in everyday life we are fortunate to have loved ones that back us in every way possible. They've always been there for us, and keep us going no matter what we're doing. I'm sure some of them have been not so understanding about the kilt, while others have backed it whole-heartedly. This thread is not just for the kilt only, sound off for the ones that shape your life in the best way.
I'll Start:
My wife, Kylie, does everything she can to take care of the family. I know she sacrifices some things, as we all must do as parents, but I've never heard her complain like some do. I work a second shift job (3pm-12am+), and she still manages to have dinner waiting for me whenever I get home. She does everything possible to help our autistic son, Dominic, try to overcome things to help him adjust better. That alone is no small task. He's "high" on the spectrum, which means there's a lot of hope for "normalcy" later. But at this time being a stay at home mom is rough. She does this and she's only 23. My son is 3.
This may seem personal to some, but I'm not ashamed to say how proud I am of her. I know we all have people in our lives to be proud of.

Good for you and good for her. Thanks for sharing that. Life is rarely easy and is best approached with generosity of spirit and optimism. Looks like you both have plenty of that.

A fine looking family, I admire your sacrifices. To struggle for a better life brings out the best in peoples character. I hope , as time goes by, your hardship wains and your family maintain their focus on what is important in life. Looking after and protecting your family. Deep thoughts are stirred by your post. Best wishes .

Your wife is beautiful, and your son looks like a happy guy. You must be doing something right!
My wife and I on St. Patrick's Day. She has beautiful hazel eyes, but they were definitely showing her Irish side on Saturday.

We have two awesome daughters who very much take after their lovely mother. I'm a very, very lucky man.
My wife wasn't thrilled that I was wearing a kilt on St. Patrick's Day...but started to get a good chuckle out of the stares I was getting from my kitty sporran by later in the afternoon, rather than the embarassment she felt in the morning.

My wife and I just celebrated 24 years together. She is definately a very strong person. Between handling finances for our two children in college, running an audiology office, housekeeping, and putting up with me she's more than I deserve. And, she supports and likes my kilt wearing.

My beautiful wife stood with me through my depression. She cared for the children, kept the home, did everything necessary to help me! Sha has accepted not only my kilt-wearing but also my pipe smoking! In two years we will be celebrating our silver wedding!

My wife's family is 100% Polish and she has put up with my Scottish lunacy with grace and charm. She is an artist and interior designer and her work on our Clan tent has won for us numerous best tent awards. She also presented me with beautiful, smart and talented daughters. What more could a man ask for, I have been truly blessed.

In loving memory of dear Ann, she was my best friend for 37 years and we lived together as man and wife for 25 of those years, seen here on our silver wedding night.

There are no shortage of women wanting to date a widowed kiltie but I never thought I could fall in love again, until the lovely Gabrielle from Bavaria came into my life, she's great fun, a wonderful companion, a magnificent cook and hard working housewife, and she loves me and my kilts. I'm a lucky lad. Sometimes I wonder if Ann's watching over me from up above and has sent my new partner to make me happy again.
