Pilgrimage to the Good Will Store, and a Lapel Question

I went down to my favorite Good Will type store today to look at jackets; they were having an half off sale. In the back of my mind I have been thinking that I should have at least one double breasted suit in my closet. I also enjoy just looking at all the different types of jacket styles, and there is always a chance that a jacket for conversion might be there.

Anyway, I did find a double breasted, navy blue jacket with gold tone buttons that fit very well; it was about the only jacket out of fifty or so that did fit well. I have navy blue trousers that match the color of the jacket, so it's all good.

Here's my question. Is this a peaked lapel or are peaked lapels a little different?
On this jacket there is only a slit between the collar and lapel. The points of the lapel angle upward

In comparison, On all of my suits, jackets, as well as, the other jackets at the store there is a wedge shaped notch between the collar and the lapel.
I've read discussion of the peaked lapels on some of the kilt jackets, and I haven't had the actual lapel to look at as an example.
    Thank you.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…
