Portable DVD Players-Dual Screen
Can anyone recommend a dual screen portable dvd player for the car?
I had one from Best Buy, it broke, replaced under warranty and the new unit wouldn't open. So, I just got my money back.
Problem is all the reviews I read for various units at Target, Amazon, WalMart seem to be hit or miss, as if it's the luck of the draw as to whether you get a good unit.
Can anyone recommend a dual screen portable DVD player?
thanks

Unfortunately all players use the same parts and to get the cost down to less than $150.00 requires cheap parts and cheap manufacturing. I to have had hit and miss luck with portable dvd players also. As long as the vast majority of people shop by price and not quality it will always be this way.

I would pay more if the more expensive units also didn't have 'hit or miss' reviews.
All the members who have kids, no one can recommend a reliable unit?

best bet for the $$ is to get headrest monitors, and a stereo deck that has a DVD player in it...(www.crutchfield.com has them)no more wires, stuff hanging down. if I had adjustable headrests that would be the route I would go. I did just pickup a dual screen player on ebay at a buy it now price of 134.00 it is made by polaroid. the first one we got didnt work, sent it back and in a week we got the second one. it works, but I'm not going to put a feedback til after our trip to Denver if it breaks then its going back and I'm getting my $ back.
the only + so far is the seller has been very helpful.

I have had several sets. All different brands. All have eventually broken. Get the warranty and go with whatever looks the sturdiest. You will likely end up using the warranty.
By the way last time I just got 2 separate players that had AV in/out capability. That way I can play one movie on both screens, or 2 different movies, and if one breaks I can just replace it, not both. Hinge area is cracked on one player already, but it is still working. I plan to keep it until it completely breaks or the warranty is about to expire, which ever comes first.

I've considered the head rest option, and using a laptop or other portable player for the movies. But then I don't know about the reliability of the headrest displays
The dual players is an option, probably a better one. What brand do you have?
I'm was getting ready to drop $299 on a Nextbase dual player.
