    Possible new tattoo...

So, I've been thinking about something like this for some time. I was doodling some time ago at work and I just came upon this while cleaning out my desk. It's just an outline, but gives the general idea. It's what I call a "sacred 'tater." The flame on top will be coloured green and orange.

A hot potato? Well, I'm willing to bet no one else has one like it! Can you explain more about how this idea sprouted?

Since I live in the land of the "famous potato" I can really get behind this idea!

    Certainly.
Are you familiar with Catholic art at all? Namely the many renditions of Christ featuring the "sacred heart?" Well, I'm not catholic, but have always appreciated the art. And, I've seen a few parodies of the "sacred heart" (even a sacred Steak surrouned by a ring of aspargus... believe it or not.) So, I thought it'd be neat to do one with a tater. The idea of the tater itself is because of the Irish blood that flows down both sides of the family. The same thing for the idea of colouring the flame green and orange. Make any more sense now?

Yes, thanks. I am not all that familiar with Catholic iconography.

    It would certainly be unusual!

In a way it's circular history. Sir Walter Raleigh brings the potato back from the New World. It becomes a major staple food in Ireland then the potato crop failures of the 1840s in Ireland drive many of it inhabitants to seek a new life in the New World.
