Posting on the X Marks kilt forum
This is a very difficult post to type without going over the top and risking getting "chucked out" so I will just ask a small question.
I posted a short while ago on a post in the for sale section where someone was selling a pair of shoes in which he said that whoever bought them would be "getting a lot of shoe for their money".
I already have some good Loakes so I just said good luck in selling his shoes and that, when I bought my Loakes I also "got a lot of shoe for my money".
I just got an automatically generated PM to tell me that my post has been deleted because it does not have anything to do with the sale.
So be it.
But, if that's the case, why aren't all the other replies deleted when another post gets "derailed" and goes totally off topic?????
I will certainly have to think twice before posting in the future.
Thanks for reading.

Re: Posting on the X Marks kilt forum
The For Sale section in particular has (relatively new) specific rules about keeping on topic. Other areas of the forum are much more open to what has been termed "floating relativity."

Re: Posting on the X Marks kilt forum
i think that's specific to the For Sale forum.
to cut down on the extraneous and just focus on the questions related to the item

BCAC,
I received a request from the OP of the thread in question, in the For Sale section of the forum.
In accordance with the published policy concerning the For Sale section, all posts to the thread that were not relevant to the sale of the shoes were deleted.
" 3: Posts to the thread must be relevant, i.e. questions on size, condition etc. Posts that just say "Wow I'd like this" or "It's too big(small/long)" and similar will be deleted."
This policy has been posted as a sticky to the For Sale section since Sept. 2009.

One of my posts was deleted too - in the same thread - just under one of your posts. All I said was, "Me too." In response to you, and others agreeing that they wear Loake shoes.
I must admit, I was rather surprised to receive the notification of the MODs deleting such a miniscule and innocent post, but I understand their reasoning, as well as the rules of the forum, and I always wish to abide by them.
Cheers,

Sorry, Steve, I wasn't aware of the specifity of the "For Sale" section. Now that I know of this I will, of course, abide by the rules.
