The world is a sadder place without this brave man and accomplished actor. One of Britain's finest and a true gentleman.
A sad, sad day indeed.

I should have noted that Todd played Cpl. Lachlan "Lachy" MacLachlan in The Hasty Heart and The Rev. Peter Marshall, a Coatbridge man, in A Man Called Peter. Marshall was the originator of the Kirkin' of the Tartan service during the Second World War. T.
Apart from my Dad being a Highlander, my parents named me Lachlan primarily after the Richard Todd character in The Hasty Heart
A great actor and a true gentleman. R.I.P.
