    If somebody bought that, would they drink it, or just keep it on display? Scotch doesn't age, so it can't possibly taste better than anything they're producing now.

    It seems to have been kept in the barrell, so it is still aging. Scotch doesn't age once its put in the bottle. That said, I think the flavor generally peaks before 81 years, but I'm no expert.

    At the VA Highland Games I was manning the MacCallum Malcolm tent when a passerbyer said I don't belong to the clan but I drink your whiskey. Now, I haven't had the pleasure of drinking this scotch, but on the clan's forum I remember a comment it left something to be desired. Oh, well at that price I guess I will never know.
