Nothing to do with Kilts, that's why posting here.

I am about to get a tattoo (scottish related) and I want to have "ALBA GU BRATH" on a banner below it. BUT....

I have seen the Gaelic spelled so many different ways I'm not sure which is right. ALBA GO BRAH, ALBA GU BRA, ALBA GO BRATH...

Please help.

I've seen "alba gu brath" most often, but perhaps the reason for the variations is a function of alphabets and accents. I know spellings in other languages when transliterated into the english alphabet look quite a bit different.

I'm not a gaelic scholar by any stretch of the imagination...just an observation. I'm sure some of the more informed members of the board can chime in here with some actual helpful information

Alba Gu Bràth


That's with the correct spelling and punctuation.
