Well alright, Scotland does seem to lead the field in this particular survey by quite a margin and whilst there is no excuse for bad manners, perhaps, it goes some way to explain how the rather more robust turn of phrase used on this side of the pond, can appear to upset those on the other side of the pond, on occasion.

....of course that USA figure doesn't reflect the Indigenous Nations of North America........then the percent would go up drastically.......

Without wanting to start any fires or derail this thread, I am just recalling some of the quite harmless comments made on this website from this side of the pond that have caused unintended upset for some, over on your side of the pond. Perhaps this survey goes part way to explaining the reason? Thats all.

Not wanting to start too big a controversy, but let's be honest, its a survey of manliness done by a cosmetics company, and while I don't want to run down their shave cream - which I would really like to try btw - but they also sell scents and fragrances. Hardly sounds manly to me - I'm just saying. And really??? Scotland's manliness rests of the shoulders of Gordon Ramsey? Sean Connery I get ... but Ramsey?

And as for the 4% Canada, all I can say is clearly they haven't heard the Monty Python crew singing I'm a lumberjack! If they had, I'm sure we'd be much higher on the list.

I wouldn't take the article too seriously, gents. The Scots are also known for having a wonderful sense of humour, right Jock?
