Scotland Trip so far
It's been grand. We had two days in Edinburgh, then drove up to Stirling, where we visited both the Bannockburn Monument AND the "real" site of the actual battle. I have extensive video to share of the site. The next day I competed at the Alva Highland Games and then we drove down to Hawick, where we had dinner with Cessna152towser (Alex).. We did two long driving tours around the Borders, and then yesterday drove up to Braemar, where I am right now.
I have treats for you lads....pictures of tours through the Locharron and DC Dalgliesh mills, with lots of shots of looms, including the 1929 loom on which the custom single-width runs of kilting fabric are made at Dalgliesh. ...will post when I get back. Tomorrow, we visit the House of Edgar mill in Keith, the Knockando mill and the Aberlour Distillery! Saturday is the Inverness Highland Games and lunch with Jock Scot!

Sounds delightful, Alan!
I'm definitely looking forward to your videos and photos. What a cracking way to enjoy Scotland, mate. I apologise for my late response, as I am well aware that you sent me a PM in regards to your trip (I was actually on holiday too, hence the lack of an immediate response). Unfortunately, I will not be in Scotland during your travels there, but if I was, I'm sure we would have found the time to meet up for a nice chat over wee dram and a pint or two. I wish you and yours the best whilst you tour throughout Scotland, as well as safe travels back to California!

Alan
I am really looking forward to your photos, I would love to see the 1929 loom at Dalgliesh where my Royal Naval Tartan was done. I'm sure this will be the trip of a lifetime, good for you on competing in the Alva Highland Games.

Alan, I hope you have a great holiday to remember and look forward to seeing your pictures.
I'd love to be able to get up there and shake you warmly by the hand and maybe split a couple of stiff ones but unfortunately, on my current schedule, I don't think that's going to be possible so I'll just wish you a grand ol' time. Take it easy. Enjoy every minute.

Sounds like you are having a blast. seeing the right sites, and taking some great tours. Enjoy the Aberlour distillery tour as it is great----especially the tasting at the end. If you can afford it, and like what particular cask they have up on the blocks, bottle your own personal drinkable souvenir and put your name in the official book of Aberlour bottlers.
Pictures, lots of pictures.
