Scottish Wildflowers
What are your favorite Scottish wildflowers?
Pictures if you got'um; comments on pictures would be nice too.
And to try to stretch flowers to kilts and tartan, here is a link to the history page for the "Flower Of Scotland Tartan" at Lochcarron.
http://www.lochcarron.com/history/fl..._scotland.html
Which sounded pretty. So, flower tartans if you know of any?
Thank you.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Sorry, it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Hi Bug.
Please don't be put off by my smart-aleck response. I was trying to add a quick touch of humour to what I assumed would be a well-received thread. I'm sure that there are others who also love the flowers. Alas, while a lover of red stems, I'm no botanist.

Actually, you're post is fine with me, Father Bill, it just made me look back at my OP post and think about or maybe regret some things I chose to leave out.
I apologize.

Maybe they don't have wildflowers in Scotland, Ted. I bet that girl named Heather that we hear so much about picked them all.

I'm sorry I'm late to your party, Ted, but perhaps you will accept the following (and a wheelbarrow more, if you need them) as appeasement.
Buttercups

Red whortleberrry transplanted to my garden near Vancouver

of course, dandelion

Re: Scottish Wildflowers
Rhodos aren't native but over the past 200+ years have become the second most often seen wildflower

thistles are pretty common

and heather is number one

but, of course my favourite must be

THISTLEDOWN!
