    Serious Parental trivia...

Couldn’t resist passing this on. Most parents are proud of their offspring for good grades, graduating from somewhere at sometime, getting their driving license, & buying their first car. Well, the eldest has a few more months to run before graduating from University. She did purchase her own rig. Rig meaning a lifted Land Rover D1. Getting in was amajor accomplishment in her life. She is a tick over 5ft tall. Today, she achieved another goal. She finally learned how to drive a brand new, all electric Zamboni.
Strange, the things that can make parents happy. This should tell you how dull my life is.

I keep pestering the folks who run the arena I curl at to teach me to drive the Zamboni. I am super jealous of her!

She's driven the old Zam', slightly bigger than this one. She hated it. The rink is, obviously, outdoors & only about 5/8 of a full sized facility. Visibility & the turning radius were not good for short person. A previous rink rat, got her job at an investment firm (post college graduation) simply because she put, "Can drive a Zamboni", on her resume. She was minimally qualified for the position. The HR person (male recreational hockey player) had never seen that on a resume & wanted to meet her. After a few minutes talking ice & Zam', he did the basic interview. She got the job.

This Zamboni is the first in it's size. The rink is doing some development work with them. I'm having a hard time getting my head around it being Wi-Fi enabled.

I remember when that circulated about the guys working at the rink. They joked about running theirs up to the local coffee shop. Only a couple of blocks away.
