Sgian dubh styles
i wonder if folk could show me there sgain dubh/dont`s,
im going to start making a handle out of ceramic in the next few weeks and in the past few days ive been looking at a fair few types of sgian dubh styles
most of the sgians ive been looking at are through google images and websites of sgian makers
but i want to see what sgians Xmarkers use ive searched through the forums and haven't really found many types of posts on sgians and when i have its usually one or two handmade ones
currently i have a cheap sgian that cost me no more than £4 i took the fake stone and replaced with a amethyst stone i also have a Damascus blade from India that i intent to make the handle for and possible sell
i found some sgain blade sellers online and of course plenty on ebay for Damascus blades
the beauty with clay is that you can buy it in any colour more or less these days and also use any colour of lead free glaze that would make it easy for me to match any tartan out there

so folks may i see your sgians please

I've got a few first I'll run through the day wear ones.
This one was a gift from a member of the forum, it is just about my favourite one to wear as it feels like it is not even there and never digs into my leg. It also has sentimental value to me.

This one I bought from a member who does not post here much anymore, it is also a very comfortable sgian to wear. Both of these are usable knifes

I've got an antler handled one that I like from the Sgian Dubh company.

Here it is with a "dress" Sgian Dubh that I bought on ebay for the princely sum of $4.00 and the hound sgian that I got from the old member.

Here is another dress sgian dubh I bought also on ebay

Those are some very nice sgians, I am looking for something like that myself.. Getting something hand forged for a hunting sgian dubh.

Here's a practical, no-frills sgian I made made by Louis Garcia, a knife maker in Fredericksburg, Texas. (http://www.lgknives.com/)

These are the ones I lust after, as documented in the now-closed sgian dubh accessory porn thread.

thankyou rex
damascus style sgians always look that much more dressy ive always felt and i just think the pattern goes so well compared to plain sgians ,for me a sgian is more for show rather than use so those styles would be my preferred choice
i like the though of incorporating gems with sgians it shouldn't be too difficult with ceramic something i may just try out
