Since there was recently a beard post...
This is an upcoming TV show from "The Deadliest Catch" producers. It's called "Whisker Wars" and follows men who grow facial hair competitively. http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/11/10/wh...atch-producers. http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/11/10/wh...atch-producer/I didn't really know where to put this, since there isn't a "grooming" section.

Awesome! Looks like it'll be on IFC?
Your link didn't work, so I Googled it. Here's another link with a teaser trailer: http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment...isker_war.html
This kinda looks like a joke to me. Not sure if I should take it seriously.

This show premiered last night on IFC. "Whisker Wars" is a program about American competitive beard growers competing amongst themselves and looking to challenge the European beard champions in Germany.
Any of you fellows with facial hair, or who simply admire a nice beard, should check it out. I might find it inspirational enough to try growing mine out longer than I usually keep it. But it's an interesting program.
They claimed last night that real beards are on the verge of becoming mainstream again. I hope so!

"Real beard" is my term, as opposed to the stubbly look that's popular these days. I'm talking about a full-bodied beard with some length to it, like 19th century men wore.

Ha! I like those! I've had it long and short, but never just "stubbly."

Dan Haggerty as Grizzly Adams...
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

I had heard about this show a couple months ago, and forgot about it. I stumbled on it 10 minutes into it, and was hooked. It is now set to record weekly.
A little goofy, but no worse than any of the other reality shows on the idiot box lately.
