Beautiful! So many wonderful scenes I had never seen before.

Yes indeed Father Bill you must come back soon.
What you see in these pics is only one small part of it.
All the pics are taken in the central belt or the highlands. The photographer has missed out many of the best bits including the whole of the rolling southern uplands of Dumfries and Galloway and the Borders, all the fine castles, abbeys and towerhouses of the border country and the beautiful Solway Coast along the south-west tip.

Alex, that would seem to be because in many people’s minds only the Highlands and the Islands are of any interest.
Since my Scottish ancestors were from the region south of Glasgow, I heartily disagree.

Mike

...or perhaps that's just where this photographer did his/her wandering. Maybe he's from that area him/herself?
I really didn't put the link up to create controversy.

Sorry, I had no wish to start a controversy, simply pointing out there's also a whole lot more to Scotland than Edinburgh, Glasgow, Falkirk, Stirling, Dundee and the Highlands. All of Scotland is worth visiting.

Oh, and no teasing this time, I sure know that! My people are from Caithness (one picture in the set) and the Orkneys, so guess where I'm making a bee-line to see!
Sorry, just teasing, fellows, much as I think you both were doing.

The diverse beauty of Scotland is amazing. We have visited and stalked deer in a different area for the past few years.
Last year we were in New Castle, Galloway and Dumfries area. Quite different terrain than the Highlands but equally beautiful.
