Well, Allen, this one features the word "Southland" in the first verse, anyway. This version features some of the best of the modern bluegrass players, and if I`m not mistaken, it was recorded at a Merle Watson Memorial Festival back in the nineties. I`ve got the VHS tape around here somewhere.

I can't pass up the opportunity to give praise to the "Big Muddy" (That would be the Mississippi River to our good folks from outside the United States.) I offer two songs that give mention to the majestic divider of this great land.
There is mention of a few Southern States as well.

Rounding out our menagerie of songs from my collection, I offer the first to the "Kilted Elvis boys of Memphis".

The second is a fun song for all the Southern girls.

As it is your national day I thought this would be better for the whole country rather than isolated parts

Thanks for the reminder. It is easy to forget we are the "United" States when problems at home (particular regions or single state issues) seem so overwhelming. This Land WAS made for USA.
