Spring
Spring seems to have arrived here in Aberdeenshire. The days are getting longer and the memories of dark nights of winter are already fading. I was out walking the dog at sunset yesterday and took this photo:-

The loch was alive with geese, gulls, tufted ducks, mallards, oystercatchers and reed buntings. Well, at least until Lucy the Cocker Spaniel got there
This morning when I got up I was treated to a fine view of Lochnagar in the distance, still in her winter raiment, lit up by the rising sun. No photo of that, I'm afraid, no zoom lens on my phone.
Anyone else's hearts lifted by the arrival of spring? Remember if there's no photo, it didn't happen

As you know Calgacus, photo or it didn't happen. No photo of Lucy so I guess she wasn't actually there. Other than that it is a beautiful picture.

Great pic!
We got teased by mid-70's F weather yesterday, but it'll be about 40 F today. Chance of a dusting of snow overnight, but the forecast is warming up to the 60's F by Saturday. Spring's fightin' to get here!

Beautiful photo!
Winter also stubbornly hangs on until the last possible moment here in Chicago, USA, and last night we had what hopefully will be the last snow storm in what has been an historically cold and snowy winter for us--but it was 50 degrees Fahrenheit two days ago and will be again two days from now, when I will don my Irish National kilt for the entire weekend. The feast day of St. Pádraig is typically a chilly, blustery affair for The Windy City, but "Spring Hopes Eternal" and I'm sure we will have fully turned the seasonal corner by National Tartan Day.....

Gorgeous photos, mate! Thanks for sharing. After speaking with family relatives in Kingussie just the other day, I am quite sure that the majority of Scotland, let alone the whole of Britain, are ready for the spring and warmer months ahead! As are we here in the US; it has been one hell of a winter and it's still trying to "hang on!" You'll be out hill walking/climbing in the Highlands before you know it!
Cheers,

Thanks Kyle, it's certainly been nice weather for ducks.
I go out on the hills all year round, but not so much recently as life and work have tended to get in the way.
I'm hopeful of getting back out soon though!

Great pics of Lucy Calgacus, especially that last one. Cockers are truly a wonderful dog.
