For St. David's Day
I love Welsh stuff, so I'm doing my radio program on Welsh music tonight. Lots of men's choir stuff and harps. But I was wondering if any of our Welsh friends could provide me a few phrases with a phonetic guide? I already know how to say "Dydd Gwyl Dewi Sant Hapus" but could you give me a few phrases like "Hello", "Goodbye", and whatnot? Thanks!
Oh, and tune in if you can! My signature has the weblink.

I'm looking forward to it.
Did you get my suggestion on Facebook?
Thanks for doing a good show, by the way.

Hello can be said in different ways:
Bore Da (borer dah) Good Morning
Prynhawn Da (prin hown dah) Good Afternoon
Noswaith Dda (nos wyth thah) Good Evening
or a simple "hi" would be S'mae - (shoo my)
Hwyl (hoyle) is Goodbye.
Hwyl Fawr (hoyle vow'r) is a stronger version - big goodbye
any others you would like Greg?

Thanks Trefor! I second JimB, and also if you could do "Wales Forever" (or the equivalent), "Welsh Music", and something like "Enjoy" it would be most appreciated.

Sure pleasure!
Cymru is Kumree am is am and byth is bith Kumree am bith!
music is cerddoriaeth (care-thorree-eith) Welsh is Cymraeg (kumryg)
but in Welsh you would reverse the words - cerddoriaeth Cymraeg.
Enjoy is mwynhau (moyn-hi) but if you are saying it as an imperitive (as you would with music inviting them to enjoy it) you would say mwynhauwch chi (enjoy yourself)
(pron moyn-hi-ook-he) but get a little phlegm on the ook-he!
Gyda Cyfarchion Iawn (Good-a kuhvarkion yown) with best greetings
Trefor
