Is St. Patrick's day a day for kilts?

I am of Irish and Scots heritage. Is St. Patrick's day a day for wearing of the kilt, or is this stretching it? I ask because of wanting to wear one to work, but wanting to be appropriate.

I wore one last year, and plan to this year too. I would have worn one before then, but I didn't own one.

There are countless opinions and reasons for each. And the entire gambet of things to consider. However my thoughts are simple....Yes, wear the kilt

You should absolutely wear a kilt on St. Patrick's day. I just made my son a County Mayo kilt just for the occasion.

If it falls on thursday this year, then by all means wear it.

I may be the odd man out, but I only wear my (saffron) kilt on St. Patrick's Day if I'm doing a piping gig, just like I would any other Irish function.
