    St. Trinian's is back?

I see that they've done something that I have hoped they would for a long time...they've gone and made another St. Trinian's movie!

So...when do they release it in the USA?

A quick check of films scheduled for release thru early November of '08 doesn't show it. You will be glad to know, however, that The Incredible Hulk will be back in June.

Actually, the reviews for St. Trinians were pretty punk, so I wouldn't expect to see it down at the local multiplex any time soon.

Haha! This looks fantastic. My wife loves the originals AND she loves Colin Firth. We're just going to have to find a place where this is playing once it comes out (if ever in the States) and travel to see it.

Nothing will ever beat the St. Trinians I saw in my youth... and didn't 'quite' understand till some years later.

No George Cole...I agree...in fact, every time I'm wearing an overcoat and the wind is blowing and I stuff my hands in my pockets and gather the coat around me, I can hear that signature piano riff that they always played when Flash Harry appeared. There was the Groucho Marx walk and the Flash Harry walk...the two best movie character walks ever*. Whoever the new guy is, he has a big overcoat to fill.

And it looks like they've dispensed with the character of Ruby (Joyce Grenfell). That's another one I'll miss.

I see that a new edition of the original Searle cartoons is scheduled for release in the US some time in February...don't know if that's a tie-in to a movie release or not. Just hoping that they do see fit to run it over here...even if the review were less than sterling, it can't be any worse than most of the flicks that show up.

*I might add the "John Wayne lurch" to the list of movie walks...

    Maybe I shouldn't prejudge what I haven't seen...

    But...

Without Joyce Grenfell how can it succeed?
